Even ter informatie als je dus een auto huurt in een andere staat zoals Georgia, kun je niet van het Alamo Tollpass program gebruik maken!!
Dan zul je dus een transponder of Minipass moeten kopen!

Question: If I rent a car in Atlanta and drive with it to Orlando, can I use the Alamo Tollpass programm then. Or is this only available on cars rented in Florida?

Dit is niet wat ik hierover op de Alamo site lees... :-k Voor de aardigheid zal ik de vraag ook eens stellen, we wachten op de beelden uit Amerika.

Toegevoegd: Die zijn razendsnel binnen. Hulde! Op mijn vraag of ik met een in Atlanta gehuurde auto in Florida gebruik kan maken van het tollpass systeem kreeg ik dit antwoord:

All of our vehicles are registered with the state of Florida. Please use the Sunpass only lane and they will take a picture of the plate and that is how they process tolls for Alamo. Around two weeks after you turn in your vehicle you will be charged for the tolls plus a convenience fee which is 2.00 per day of use and up to 6.00 per rental.

In de staat Georgia kan je geen gebruik van het programma maken, omdat het programma daar niet werkt. reis je met een auto van Atlanta naar Miami dan zal het systeem alleen in de staat Florida werken. Alamo neemt deel aan het programma Highway Toll Administration zodat hun klanten, daar waar dit tolpassysteem wel is ingevoerd, namelijk in Florida etc, electronisch kunnen betalen. Het systeem werkt volgens hun opgave niet met een transponder, maar gewoon op de kentekenplaat.

Colorado, Florida, and Houston, TX
In these areas, the customer will drive through a designated toll based lane. When a renter utilizes these video based toll lanes, the toll system identifies the vehicle and the toll charges posted to the renter's credit card.

We (ALAMO) have partnered with Highway Toll Administration (HTA) to offer a TollPass Program in Texas, Florida, Colorado and California Bay Area. The TollPass Program is a service which allows the customers to drive through a designated toll express lane and pay electronically.

If you or any driver operate the rental vehicle in Northern California, Florida, Colorado, or Texas, and generate an unpaid toll, you will be charged our TollPass Convenience Charge of $2.00 for each day you use a toll road or bridge plus the cost of all unpaid tolls. The maximum TollPass Convenience Charge for the rental period is $6.00, plus the cost of all unpaid tolls. For information call 1-877-860-1284 or go to www.htallc.com/alamo
If you or any driver operate the rental vehicle in areas not served by TollPass and generate any unpaid toll(s) then you will be charged for all unpaid tolls and an administrative charge of up to $25.00 per rental.

• Does Alamo offer the ability to use toll express lanes?

Yes! The Alamo TollPass program is our electronic toll collection program which makes travel more convenient! On roadways covered by our TollPass service, the program eliminates the need for travelers to carry change or wait in long cash payment lines at toll plazas, allowing Alamo renters to drive through electronic toll express lanes and pay tolls electronically.

• How are my toll charges identified and how do I pay for them?

The TollPass Program offered in Colorado, Florida, Texas, and California Bay Area is a service which allows the customer to drive through a designated toll express lane and pay electronically. When one of our rental vehicles passes through a designated toll express lane and generates an unpaid toll, the toll and any applicable TollPass Convenience Charge will be charged to the same credit/debit card that is used to rent the vehicle.

Tja dan moet ik toch eens goed nadenken want de tol vanuit Atlanta naar Orlando is in totaal 3 dollar (enkele reis).
Als ik dan de fee en die $25,00 dolllar moet gaan betalen kan ik beter gewoon lang een tolboot gaan en cash betalen.

Ik weet niet goed hoe ik het verder moet uitleggen. Ik neem aan dat je de tol voor het stukje Turnpike voorbij Ocala bedoelt? Daar zijn toch Sunpass lanes of vergis ik me?

Als Alamo op de site en in 'mijn' mail aangeeft dat je met alle auto's, ongeacht waar je hebt gehuurd, gebruik kunt maken van de Sunpasstolwegen in Florida en dat je daarvoor 2 dollar per dag betaalt met een maximum van 6 dollar, dan hoef je je toch geen zorgen te maken over bovengenoemde clausule die alleen geldt voor de regio's waar het systeem niet van toepassing is?

De voorwaarden zijn volgens mij toch echt duidelijk.

Ik heb "ons adres" im Kissimmee ingevuld staan. Een US adres, dus.
Of je eigen adres met een US zipcode, dat is nl. het herkenningspunt.

En wat Corrus al zegt, gewoon aankopen bij Publix en dan account aanmaken.

Of je hem online koopt of bij de Publix maakt toch hiervoor niets uit.
Ik kan het daarom als antwoord op de vraag, die er boven staat niet plaatsen.

Wat ik er mee wilde zeggen is dat als je hem online besteld, je hem ook ergens naar toe moet laten sturen, en ze doen dat niet naar NL.

Nu weet ik dat calypso kennis in Alanta heeft en hem wss daar heen zal willen laten sturen, maar voor diegene die dat niet heeft is online kopen meer rompslomp dan even bij de buurtsuper aan te gaan.

klopt dat was inderdaad mijn bedoeling, want ja naar Nederland zullen ze het inderdaad niet sturen, gezien hun website alleen aangeeft een US Adres. Dus ik gebruik gewoon maar het US adres van mijn vriendin dan maar ;-)
Scheelt mij ook weer tijd omdat ik dan niet hoef te wachten tot ik in Florida ben om die transponder te kopen. Maar kan natuurlijk dus ook gewoon door de express lane rijden en het op kenteken laten gaan zoals Teleton dus zei, naar aanleiding van het email naar de HTALLC.

je moet het zelf weten maar ik zie meer en meer state troopers achter de tollplaza staan die auto;s aan de kant zetten die een "unpaid toll" genereren.

Nu kan je natuurlijk uitleggen dat je een Alamo wagen hebt en ze kunnen dat vast natrekken maar daar sta je dan met je goede gedrag, de 2 minuten die wint door de sunpass lane te gebruiken verlies met een vriendelijk gesprek met oom agent.

Alamo heeft die afspraken en in het verleden gebruikte ik twee wagens op 1 account maar tegenwoordig voor particulier gebruik als je meerdere unpaid tolls genereerd krijg je een briefje om de transponder te laten testen bij het service center en indien het te vaak voorkomt $100

als je vaker komt gewoon een portable trnasponder aanschaffen als je niet zo vaak komt stickers. op je volgende trip koop je alvast 2 dan heb je er al 1 voor de volgende vakantie

We rijden met de auto van Orlando naar Miami en Key West. Op de Florida Turnpike hebben we sowieso een SunPass nodig.
