Small operations offering guided aerial sightseeing by helicopter pop up (and disappear) with some regularity. If the ones listed here are closed by the time you arrive, you’ll probably spot new ones as you drive around the tourist areas. They all seem to offer much the same menu of tours, ranging from short two- to three-minute hops for about $15 to half-hour surveys for about $200, with children’s prices somewhat less. Some offer extended trips that take in Kennedy Space Center for $400. Typically, these operators require a minimum of two adult passengers, although some require a full craft for takeoff and some offer special one-person rates. Most operators start up at 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. and continue until sunset, but call first to check.
Tip: The farther they have to fly the more expensive the trip. So if you especially want to see Universal Orlando, pick a helipad on International Drive; if Disney World is on your must-see list, try a tour that leaves from Kissimmee. You might save some money.
