Additional Driver
Additional driver fees will not be reflected in your estimated total when you book your reservation in advance. They will be calculated at the rental counter when the vehicle is picked up.
The following individuals, if 25 years of age or older and in possession of a valid driver's license, may drive the car with the renter's prior permission and are exempt from Additional Driver fees:

• Renter's employer (while on company business);
• Renter's fellow employee (while on company business
• Renter's spouse or life partner.
• Disabled renters who have completed the non-licensed renter form

A maximum of 2 additional drivers can complete an additional driver form* for a rental. To save time, you can print out this form, complete and bring it with you to the counter. Additional drivers who can drive the vehicle with the renter's permission (see Exceptions above) are not included in this requirement.

For all U.S. states other than CA, NV and NY, the charge for additional drivers is $13 per day per additional driver, with a maximum charge of $65 per rental per driver. The additional driver fee in New York is $3 per day per additional driver. The additional driver fee in Nevada is $11 per day per additional driver, with a maximum charge of $65. There is no additional driver fee in California.

The applicable terms and conditions will vary by location. Be sure to check the bottom of your reservation confirmation for the specific terms and conditions for the location the reservation applies to. Prior to making a reservation, you may search for a specific location and view its current policies. Avis recommends contacting the location directly to answer inquiries concerning the specific rental facility.

@Bbusa: ik heb geen ervaring met Car del mar maar als je een reserveringsnummer van Avis hebt kan je bellen of emailen om te vragen of de reservering betaald is.

Het lidmaatschap is gratis en kan je via de Avis site aanvragen. Ik weet niet of je dit kan koppelen aan de autohuur via Autoeurope.

Dus ik begrijp uit bovenstaande, dat als je geen preferred member bent, je het gewoon moet doen met de auto die je toegewezen krijgt?

Krijg je dan een pasje van Avis ofzo die je moet laten zien aan de balie om te bewijzen dat je preferred member bent?

Als preferred member bent kan je inderdaad de toegewezen auto ruilen voor een ander. Je krijgt en pasje van Avis als je een membership (is gratis) aanvraagt.
