Wij hebben afgelopen vakantie ook een poging gedaan om de auto te halen via de kiosk, en dat gaat prima totdat je een extra bestuurder wilt opgeven.
Ondanks het afgenomen GOLD pakket moesten wij bij de kiosk hier toch $ 9.95 per dag per bestuurder extra betalen. En dit gaan wij dus niet doen.
Dus dan moet je de hele actie weer afbreken en je toch weer melden bij de balie :x:x

Wij hadden de extra bestuurder al bij de Savetime opgegeven en het stond ook netjes bij de gegevens in de kiosk vermeld.

wat ik echter niet zie is de regeling voor de electronische tol?
Moet je dat ook aanvragen of is dat vanzelfsprekend en gaat dat automatisch in Florida voor de huurauto's van Alamo?

Using the Alamo Kiosks for Express Pickup

Alamo Car Hire offer computerised kiosks in many key locations for your car hire collection. This is available in many Florida Car Rental locations as well as other larger car hire depots throughout the USA. These are also known as 'Choice' locations as they allow you to take your pick of car from the parking lot (unlike most other providers that allocate you a car without any input from you).

Using the kiosks is very easy and can save you a lot of time as you will not have to queue up at the desk.

In order to use the kiosks, after you have received your car rental voucher, you will need to register online for "Alamo Save Time". You can do this using the link below:

When you arrive at the car hire depot, do not enter the line at the desk. Instead, just go to one of the several kiosks that are available just in front of the Alamo car hire desk. The system is operated by way of a touch screen. Touch the screen to get started, and then simply follow the easy instructions.

You will be prompted for your Alamo reservation number, details of additional drivers and offered various optional extras. The beauty of using the car rental kiosk is that you can decline any optional extras without pressure from a member of staff. Optional extras are items such as GPS, car upgrades and enhanced roadside assistance.

Once you have completed the process, your rental agreement documents will be printed. Take your documents across to the parking lot and choose any hire car you like the look of from those in the category you have booked. Each car will have a set of keys in the driver's side door, so pick the car you like, jump in and drive off!


If you have booked one of the following car types, you may not use the kiosk: Economy, Compact or Intermediate.

That's a bit cheeky, and I can only assume that it's because they want to try and push you to upgrade!

Bij dat laatste rode regeltje kan van mij ook Full-size SUV bij, want het lukte ons voor geen meter.
Kan zijn omdat de geboekte auto geheel uitverkocht was, en de balieklant ons een upgrade wilde verkopen, maar de boodschap aan de kiosk was: ga naar de balie.

De upgrade hebben we (on)beleeft geweigerd, in de garage kregen we hem gratis.

Wat is de bron van dit stuk informatie? Kennelijk niet van Alamo gezien de laatste regel.

De kiosk werkt helemaal niet met een pre-paid voucher, bovendien is er een US drivers license vereist.
