Disney Resort hotels zijn gewoon al te boeken hoor...
Ik lees bij sommige mensen dat ze bijvoorbeeld 10 nachten in wdw slapen en dan in 2 hotels. ik vroeg mij af hoe je dit boekt. Wij hebben de vorige keer bij wdw geboekt en daar hadden we volgens mij niet die optie om 2 hotels te boeken.. waar kan dat dan wel?
Je kunt bij WDW rechtsreeks boeken, maar 2 hotels betekent altjd 2 reserveringen. Als je die aansluitend boekt, dan heb je hetzelfde effect.
ondertussen zou het hoofdzwembad van disney's caribbean beach resort vlugger terug klaar en open zijn dan verwacht... achjah... we zien het daar wel zeker :-)

Leveren ze ook in Belgie/Nederland? Als ik die locatie selecteer in de shopping cart, dan kan ik geen verzendkosten kiezen...
Had daarstraks nog een mailtje naar de Guest Services van de Disney Resort Collection gestuurd om de verzendkosten voor een lamp naar België te vragen.

Disney is offering a fantastic "free nights" vacation package offer. This is probably the best offer I've seen since 2003. It is valid for stays January 4 through June 27, 2009 (with April 5-18 blacked out).

- Buy a 4-night/4 day vacation package, get a 7-night/7-day package. That's 3 FREE hotel nights and 3 extra days on your theme park admission tickets!

It’s a resort designed with families in mind. There will be amazing sights at the different themed wings of the resort, including a model of King Triton that’ll eventually be 35 feet tall and tower over guests. And Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will also have themed room interiors in its nearly 2,000 new units — 1,120 family suites in The Lion King, Cars and Finding Nemo wings and 864 themed rooms in The Little Mermaid wings. Suites will have both a living room and a bedroom, offering added space.

The complex will be priced as a “value” hotel, at the low end of Disney World’s scale, similar to Disney’s Pop Century and All-Star resorts, where standard rates begin at $82 a night.
The announcement is one of the strongest signals yet from Disney that it thinks a sustained recovery is under way from the long travel slump brought on by the global recession. Disney executives, who have been weighing construction of a family-suites hotel for several years, finally approved the project in January.
But in deciding to add another lower-priced hotel, Disney also appears to be betting that travelers will continue the frugal spending habits many adopted during the downturn. Disney has been relying on discounts to sustain attendance during the past year, and executives acknowledged Tuesday that consumers are still searching for deals even as Disney attempts to return to pre-recession prices. “Quite honestly, we’re in a bit of waiting for each other to blink,” Walt Disney Co. Chief Financial Officer Jay Rasulo told analysts during a conference call to discuss the company’s second-quarter earnings.
The Art of Animation Resort will be built on a 65-acre plot across a lake from Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The location will allow Disney to use a pair of long-neglected, unfinished buildings that Disney originally constructed as a second phase of Pop Century but which it abandoned amid the 2001 recession. Pop Century’s first phase was completed in 2003.

Plans for the new resort show 10 wings of rooms and a separate building housing the check-in lobby and restaurants. The hotel wings will be separated into four distinct groups, each with a theme from a different animated movie: The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Finding Nemo and Cars.
Each section will have separate courtyards anchored by icons from the movies — such as a 35-foot-tall King Triton presiding over the Mermaid section — and the entire resort will use bright-color palettes evocative of the lush scenery of animated movies. Hotel designers say they have been soliciting input from artists at Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios on everything from building elevations to which scenes to depict at the swimming pools. “The hope is you walk into this courtyard and you’re kind of like seeing it as a character in the movie,” said Frank Paris, a senior project manager with Walt Disney Imagineering, the company’s in-house attraction-design unit.
Because the majority of its rooms will be six-person suites, the Art of Animation Resort will have roughly the same capacity as Pop Century, which has 2,800 conventional rooms.
With the project, Disney is placing an aggressive bet on what it says is a growing market for affordable suites aimed at families traveling with several children or extended families. Disney World has been testing the concept with about 215 suites at its All-Star Music hotel that were converted out of about 430 ordinary rooms about three years ago. Jim Durham, vice president for resort projects at Disney Imagineering, said demand for such accommodations has risen in recent years as families have taken to traveling in larger groups. The trend became particularly pronounced following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, he said. “Ever since 9-11, we just see a lot more family unity,” Durham said.
In Orlando, the family-suites market is led by the 777-room Nickelodeon Suites Resort, which has proven immensely popular since it opened in 2005 just to the east of Disney World. The resort pairs family suites with Nickelodeon cartoon characters such as SpongeBob SquarePants. By adding more than 1,000 new suites to its lineup, Disney hopes to pull more of those travelers onto its property. The conventional hotel rooms to be built as part of the Art of Animation Resort will also allow Disney to restore the room capacity it lost as part of the suites conversion at All-Star Music. Disney executives said the popularity of those All-Star Music suites convinced them that there is a substantial market for family suites. “We’re feeling very positive about the demand that is interested in both the value product and the family-suite product,” said Mark Rucker, vice president for lodging for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “The research for us is showing that the Central Florida marketplace is going to more than capably handle some inventory in this category.”
Disney declined to say how much it will spend to build the hotel. It expects to break ground this summer and open it in phases throughout 2012. Disney said the project will generate approximately 800 construction jobs.

Ben blij dat er eindelijk iets met de leegstaande halfafgebouwde gebouwen wordt gedaan. het was zo'n treurig gezicht.
Ik heb vorig jaar een paar dagen in een family suite in All Star Music gezeten. Dat beviel erg goed, met 1 uitzondering: die suites zijn allemaal rondom het grote zwembad gelegen, en daar hebben ze 3x daags een "entertainment"-programma. Dat houdt in dat een paar cast-members met een zware PA-installatie spelletjes aan het doen zijn rondom het zwembad, voor een handvol gasten. 15x daags de Lambada horen, op volle sterkte, is wat veel gevraagd, en het hield niet voor een uur of 10 's avonds op. Dan ligt mijn dochter van (toen) 3 dus al die tijd in haar bed te bouncen. Na wa klachten zijn we uiteindelijk verhuisd naar een suite in Saratoga Springs (free upgrade voor 18 dagen van een value resort naar een deluxe resort), dus uiteindelijk is dat wel goed gekomen. Maar de family suites in All Star Music doen we dus niet meer. Als echter deze suites gereed zijn (ook nog eens erg centraal gelegen binnen WDW), dan kunnen ze ons tot de vaste klant rekenen. Ideaal, om toch op WDW-terrein te zitten en 's avonds niet met de kippen op stok te hoeven als dochterlief gaat slapen. Nog wat TV kijken, wijntje of een pizza erbij, eventueel een goedkope DVD-speler scoren bij de Walmart (<$30) en de laatste TV-series op DVD kijken, zo komen wij onze avonden dan wel door.

Volgende week vertrekken wij weer naar ons allen favo vakantie spot. Nu zouden wij graag een nachtje in het Grand Floridian verblijven echter de prijzen bevallen me een stuk minder. Iemand enig ide of ik ergens een goedkoop last minute nachtje kan scooren of doet Disney hier niet aan?
Die prijzen zijn nu eenmaal duur hier bij usareisen is het 264 euro voor 2 personen en waarschijnlijk een gewone standaart kamer .
Nu moet je je eigenlijk de ´vraag stellen is het dit waard kamer klaar om 3 uur en de dag erna om 11 uur eruit en dit voor deze prijs .

Ik had een beetje gehoopt dat er een of andere site is waarbij je rete goedkope last minutes zou kunnen boeken. Een beetje het zelfde als je een vakantiehuisje hier in nederland kan boeken voor aankomend weekend voor 50 euro oid maar begrijp dus dat dat er niet in gaat zitten.

Maar wij hebben vorig jaar ook zoiets gedaan en geloof mij het was het geld niet waard je bent er zo kort dan kan je beter je nog eens laten gaan in de mall .

Wel ben ik met je eens dat een nachtje geen recht doet aan de ervaring. Alleen slapen en dan weer verrekken is idd jammer aangezien dit hotel zo veel meer te bieden heeft. Alleen al de mogelijkheid om even naar MK te zoeven als je iets vergeten hebt is geweldig. :wink:
We staan weer voor 8 dagen geboekt en verheugen ons weer op de greeter die ons begroet met "welcome home".
gelijk heb je tink maar toch niet voor 1 nachtje dat is als een chocoladetaart waar je een kruimetje van krijgt en aan de rest niet mag aankomen .

Maar om op het onderwerp terug te komen, zo ver ik weet doet Disney niet echt aan last minutes. Ik durf dit niet met honderd procent zekerheid te zeggen, maar ik heb inmiddels al behoorlijk wat fora afgestruind en ben er nog nooit iets over tegen gekomen. Ik geloof ook niet dat het ooit heel erg leeg is in de hotels, maar dat kan ook aan mij liggen
Als je maar 1 nacht blijft en je wilt toch graag de disney ervaring, kan ik je aanraden om gewoon in de value resorts te overnachten. Veel betaalbaarder en volgens mij gewoon erg leuk

Ik heb gebeld en kreeg de korting zonder problemen. Als je al geboekt hebt kun je de korting zonder probleem krijgen op je bestaande boeking.
We maken er wel geen gebruik van (villa), maar bedankt voor het uiztoeken. altijd handig kortingscodes

Helaas staat er dit jaar geen trip op de planning....maar dit is toch ook wel weer heel verleidelijk. Misschien zijn er voor volgend jaar ook wel weer mooie aanbiedingen...we hopen het maar!
Hey, ik ben ook druk bezig met het plannen van een tripje, maar ik zie zo langzamerhand door de bomen het bos niet meer. Je zegt dat je gebeld hebt voor deze kortingen? Gebeld naar de VS? Hang je dan niet een uur in de wacht voor een miljoen per minuut?
tav bellen. wij boeken liever alles via internet, maar we hebben ook wel eens gebeld om bepaalde dingen duidelijk te krijgen. dat deden we via de mobiel en toen kostte een uur aan de telefoon maar een paar euro.
Ik heb hooguit een kwartiertje tot hooguit twintig minuten nodig en het kost mobiel erg weinig.
Maak eerst een profiel aan op de site.
Zorg dat je voor de Amerikaanse site alles klaar hebt liggen.

Disney opent binnenkort het "Art of Animation Resort" hotel. Het 'Resort' is gelijk aan dat van "Disney's All Star Sports en All Star Music Resort, All Star Movies Resort en Pop Century Resort"
Het gebouw was al half afgebouwd maar in 2003 zijn ze gestopt met bouwen nadat sinds de aanvallen op 11 Sept '01 het toerisme was afgenomen. Het zou eigenlijk deel uit gaan maken van het Pop Century Resort als het Legendary Years Hotel.
Maar nu wordt het dus het "Art of Animation Resort." De opening staat gepland voor zomer 2012. Ik ben erg benieuwd

Hallo allemaal,
Volgend jaar mei willen we verblijven in Art of Animation Resort. Als we op de laatste dag uitchecken, kun je dan de koffers bij hen afgeven, zodat je nog een park in kunt. Ik weet dat ze deze service wel in Disneyland Parijs (Santa Fe) hebben. Dan bewaren ze de koffers in een hokje en kun je deze later op de dag ophalen. Maar ik kan niet vinden of ze dit ook in de WDW (value) resorts hebben. Heeft iemand hier ervaring mee? Alvast bedankt!
