Shopping: The Florida Mall

Vandaag een rondje Florida Mall gedaan. Was weer een heerlijk thuiskom-gevoel. En natuurlijk een overheerlijke Philly Cheese Steak van Charley's Steakery gegeten in de food court.
Het was ook weer ouderwets druk, wat gebruikelijk is op een hete zondagmiddag als vandaag.

Opvallend vond ik dat er nauwelijks meer lege winkels zijn. Tenminste, et is mij niet opgevallen.
Zojuist lees ik dat er een aantal nieuwe winkels bijkomen:

Florida Mall adds several new stores

Several new stores will open this fall at the Florida Mall: Polaroid FOTOBAR, SIX: 02, Original Penguin and The Art of Shaving.

Polaroid FOTOBAR can take photos from customer's smartphones or other sources and transform them into custom art projects such as posters and metal-mounted art. The new store will be in a 1,728-square-foot space near White House¿Black Market in the Macy's wing.

Original Penguin by Munsingwear is an apparel and accessories brand sold online. The mall said this will be Original Penguin's first store. It will occupy a 1,997-square-foot space in the Macy's wing.

SIX:02, a new women's concept from Foot Locker, features dedicated "fit zones" and fitting lounge areas for shoppers to find fitness pants, sports bras, tops, and athletic footwear. It will sell name brands including Nike, adidas and ASICS. The new store will occupy a 2,220-square-foot space near Build-A-Bear Workshop, which has temporarily closed until October for remodeling.

The Art of Shaving will open in a 534-square-foot space near Starbucks in the newly remodeled Center Court. This will be the second Central Florida location for The Art of Shaving.

Die Microsoft winkel is idd Apple-achtig. Ben er in februari geweest, vind de uitstraling echt helemaal niets, net als Apple. Dixons heeft vorig jaar ook alles in die stijl gegoten, omdat dit is wat de jeugd wil. Ik kom dus niet meer bij de Dixons. Weinig aanbod in de winkels en vaak geen prijzen.

Michael, is die Philly Cheesesteak beter dan die van de IHOP? Die eet mijn vrouw graag als we er zijn. Anders moet ze die in de food court maar eens proberen. :)

Deze winkels zijn inderdaad heel steriel en zo niet gezellig om te winkelen. Kwam ook altijd graag bij Dixons hier maar nu ook niet meer! Jammer hoot.

Bij IHOP? Geen idee. Als ik pannekoeken wil ga ik naar een pannekoekenhuis. Voor een cheese steak ga ik naar een steakery. Charley's steakery.

Maar bij IHOP is veel meer te halen dan pannenkoeken. Ik vind pancakes niet eens echt lekker en heb ze (de Amerikaanse) al jaren niet meer gegeten.. en toch kom ik nog wel eens bij de IHOP! :) Zal er volgende keer wel eens kijken in de Florida Mall.

Net bericht gehad van WFTV; lange wachtrijen, zelfs tot ver buiten de Florida Mall. Wat zou het zijn ??

Ik wacht wel een weekje voordat ik probeer om een 5s te kopen. Vandaag is er ook weer een rij. Dit maal niet buiten maar binnen in de mall.

En dat allemaal voor de Iphony ??? gekke mensen die amerikanen ;)

Niet alleen Amerikanen als ik het zo lees...... Stel je voor dat je niet de eerste bent die zo'n ding heeft gekocht voor de hoofdprijs.

Maar valt je niet op hoe rustig ze allemaal in de rij staan. Dat vind ik nou typerend voor Amerika en dat mis ik zo in NL.

Staan ze er nu nog steeds???

Niet meer buiten maar wel binnen. Ze krijgen ongeveer 100 Iphone 5S per dag binnen. Allemaal of bijna allemaal zijn gelocked voor AT&T, Verizon of Sprint. Er komen heelerg weinig unlocked versies voor T-Mobile binnen.

The new food pavilion will create an expanded dining experience focused on comfort and convenience and will be relocated into a portion of the former Saks building facing the Sand Lake Road side of Florida Mall. The food pavilion will feature 16 eateries, including several healthy fare options and new-to-market dining choices. The new design doubles the available seating and will feature indoor and outdoor dining options.
“The new food pavilion and retail area will be unlike anything in the market,” said Brian Hanson, general manager of Florida Mall. “The design of the space will create a true gathering place for shoppers and area office workers alike.” Hanson added that the existing food space would continue to serve customers until the new food pavilion opens, which is expected to be in spring 2015.
A total of 105,000 square feet will be repurposed to include the new food pavilion, additional mini-anchors, small shops and restaurants. There will also be a new major entrance to the mall to accommodate better customer flow into both the mall and food pavilion. The current food area will ultimately be repositioned for new retail space. The highly-anticipated American Girl store, the first and only location in Orlando, will open later this fall.
“We have great demand for any space at the Florida Mall,” said Hanson, “so the ability to reposition existing space and create new mini-anchors, stores, and restaurants is a fantastic opportunity for us to even better serve our shoppers.”

Goedemorgen. Vraagje. Wij zijn op dit moment in Orlando en onze zoon zou graag een winkel bezoeken van PlayStation en x box enzo. Een echte grote game winkel eigenlijk. Wij hebben niets kunnen vinden (ook niet op internet). Weet iemand dir misschien op het forum?

Volgens mij kun je het beste terecht bij EB Gamesen en GameStop. Die zijn niet mega-groot maar hebben wel heel veel.

In Mall at Millenia zit een Sony store (zoals Apple en Microsoft).

Grote verbouwing voor de Crayola Experience.
Opent in de Florida Mall "ergens" in de komende zomer.
