Omdat ik 19 jaar ben op het moment van mijn bezoek aan Florida is er een beperkte keuze aan auto verhuur bedrijven.
Ik heb FOXrentacar Tampa op het oog, maar er zijn weinig tot geen reviews over deze vestiging.
Mijn vraag is nu: heeft er iemand op dit forum ervaring met FOX rent a car, en zouden jullie dit bedrijf aanraden?

Ik heb geen ervaring met FOX. Een waarschuwing vooraf: Zorg dat je goed verzekerd bent!! en dat kost nogal wat. Als ik voor een Ford Focus- klasse kijk zit je met verzekering en je underage zo op $ 85 a 90 per dag. Misschien goed verder zoeken en naar een paar brokers die je hier op het forum kan vinden een mailtje sturen kan de moeite waard zijn. Goede reis en veel plezier (en welkom op het forum)
Nog nooit van gehoord. En er komen nogal wat verhuurders langs op het Forum. Hoe kom je bij deze verhuurder?
Ik heb gegoogled op termen als 'car rental Florida age 19' enzovoort. Fox was één van de resultaten met een underage fee van slechts $14 per dag.
Ondertussen ben ik wel verder het internet aan het afspeuren, want juist omdat weinig mensen van Fox hebben gehoord durf ik het niet helemaal aan.
Stuur ze een mail voor een offerte met gespecificeerd alle verzekeringen.
Ik heb ze zojuist een mail gestuurd. Als ik een reactie heb zal ik daar nader verslag over doen.
FOX is een Californische maatschappij (opgericht 1989) die met ingang van januari 2012 naar Florida is gekomen, ook een nieuwe maatschappij is SIXT ( van oorsprong een Duitse Maatschappij opgericht in 1912) heeft ook zijn eerste vestiging in Florida geopend, deze vermelding stond in de krant FoxNews van 11 januari 2012.

SIXT kende ik zelf al wel, maar zij hanteren een minimumleeftijd van 21 jaar. Van FOX heb ik nog niets gehoord..

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) FOX offers to all renters LDW, Loss Damage Waiver, which for an additional daily charge relieves the renter of all financial responsibility for the loss or damage to the rental car, as long as the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms of the Rental Agreement. Cost - USD/18.00 to USD/22.00 per rental day depending on the vehicle type and rental location - the exact amount is available with your car quote.
Rental Liability Protection (RLP) Primary insurance protecting you against claims made by third party for bodily injury and/or property damage sustained while operating the rental vehicle, up to the required financial responsibility limits of the state in which the vehicle is rented. RLP does not cover all situations that may arise while operating a rental vehicle. Cost - USD/12.99 per rental day.
NOTE - In Colorado and Florida vehicles are supplied with liability coverage that meets state minimums. The renter is financially responsible for all damages not covered under the liability policy including, but not limited to the FOX rental vehicles full value.
Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) - Provides coverage for 3rd party automobile claims for the difference between the primary liability limits provided under the renters own personal policy and a maximum combined single limit of one million dollars for bodily injury and/or property damage but does not cover all situations that may arise while operating a rental vehicle. Cost - USD/11.99 to USD/12.99 per rental day depending on the rental location.
Personal Accident/Personal Effects Protection (PAC) - Personal Accident Coverage provides accidental death and accidental medical expense benefit to the renter and their passenger (s). The death and medical expense benefit will both pay in addition to any other coverage that might be applicable to the renter or passengers. Personal Effects Coverage offers limited protection against damage to personal effects owned by the renter, as well as immediate family members of the renter, who permanently reside in the renters household and are traveling with the renter. Cost - USD/4.99 per rental day.
Roadside Assistance Program (RSA) - If you purchase our Roadside Service Assistance (RSA) we will waive all, or a portion of, the cost of a roadside assistance service call up to the amount of USD/400.00 per incident. You may purchase RSA at USD/2.99 per rental day. Benefits include emergency road service towing (within 25 miles of occurrence), winching, jump start, flat tire change, lockout service, and emergency fuel delivery (up to two gallons). Some restrictions apply, ask for a copy of an RSA brochure at the rental counter. Toll free number 1 (877) 937-9349.
Mexico Insurance - FOX offers the purchase of Mexico Insurance (Major credit card only) on vehicle rentals of economy thru full size only. Mexico insurance can be purchased at the time of rental prior to entering Mexico at the following corporate locations - Los Angeles, San Diego or Phoenix. Coverage applies only in Mexico cities/states closest to the California and Arizona borders. Rates start at USD/26.00 per 24 hour day including tax. All other vehicles are not allowed to travel into Mexico.
De eerste 3 zeker afsluiten. Nummer 4 als je een goede reisverzekering hebt, overbodig), 5 is Wegenwacht, moet je zelf weten en 6 Mexico, lijkt mij voor Florida niet nodig. Nummer 1 is casco , zeg maar Allrisk hier, nummer 2 is een extra WA uitbreiding en nummer 3 is ook zo iets. Alles even kort door de bocht gezegd.
Ik heb nu een alternatief gevonden dat mij veel meer bevalt: Hertz on Demand.
Beschikbaar vanaf 18 jaar, en is een soort car-sharing programma. Ik heb net een medewerker van het bedrijf gesproken en die zei dat het ook geld in Florida.
Het enige nadeel is dat de auto niet bij het vliegveld staat, maar op een openbare plek in de stad.
Het werkt als volgt:
Registreer op de site > krijg een "entry-device"(een soort chip waarmee de nog te selecteren auto open en dicht kan) > reserveer een auto > betaal, en je hebt voor maximaal 30 dagen de auto tot je beschikking.
Ik kan echter nog niet zien hoeveel het precies gaat kosten, omdat ik eerst mijn adresgegevens moet valideren.
