Ironman's newest event property, the Ironman 70.3 Series, culminates with its world championship in Clearwater, FL. More than 1,800 domestic and international competitors will earn the right to compete in the Ford Ironman World Championship 70.3 by qualifying at one of the 22 Ironman 70.3 events held around the world. Ironman 70.3 events consist of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run. The race will start and finish at Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach. The nearby Harborview Center and Sand Key Resort will host several of the pre-and post-race activities. For more information, visit website.

It's time for the Tampa Bay International Auto Show, and you know the drill. "Honey, I'm just going to see which fuel-efficient hybrid makes sense for the family." (Translation: Ferrari display!)
But if you do want to check out an economy car, chances are the one you want will be at the Tampa Convention Center, where hundreds of 2008 models will be on display, including the usual concept cars, luxury rides and exotics. And both Volvo and GM will offer the chance to take a spin in new models.
Show times are noon to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the convention center, 333 S Franklin St. Advance tickets and coupons are available at www.autoshowtampa.com .
Admission is $9 for those 13 and older, $4 for seniors, military personnel, students and ages 7 to 12. Children 6 and younger are free.
